OddSkills
Master the Unnecessary.
Try it in your browser
These are the app's own practice screens, running on this page: ten questions a session, nothing to install.
OddSkills is a pocket field guide to deliberately useless expertise.
84 finite collections
Morse code, semaphore, maritime signal flags, the NATO alphabet, Braille, ASL fingerspelling. The flags, shapes, capitals and outlines of 195 countries. Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic and Hebrew letters. Roman numerals, ASCII, a thousand digits of pi. The periodic table, 88 constellations, the genetic code, cloud genera, minerals on the Mohs scale. Roman emperors, popes, Ottoman sultans, English monarchs. 500 paintings. 148 bird calls. 250 landmarks.
Every collection is a closed set. Eighty-eight constellations. A hundred and eighteen elements. Twenty-six letters. It ends — which means it can be finished.
Three ways into every collection
Reference is the complete set, searchable, with sources. Learn is short lessons that build one idea at a time. Practice is drills in the form each subject actually needs: send Morse by holding a key, tap the country on a map, name the bird from eight seconds of its song.
A geography quiz game, done properly
Flag quiz, guess the country by its shape, find it on the world map, name its capital. All 195 countries, from Natural Earth map data, with harder rounds for flags people mix up.
Party Mode: a quiz show on one phone
Two to six players, the same questions in turn, an optional timer and a result screen nobody asked for. Thirty-four collections play this way — a trivia night without the setup. How Party Mode works.
Field notes, no account
Finish a session and it is written down: what you practised, how much you got on the first try, and when. There is no account, no sign-in and no server — your progress stays on your device, and most collections play without a connection.
What is free
Morse Code, World Flags, Country Shapes, Roman Emperors and the Greek Alphabet are free forever and never counted. Every other collection can be read and learned for free; practice on those is one session a day, plus one more for a short video. OddSkills Complete is a single payment that opens everything, unlocks Party Mode and removes the ads. No subscription.
