Learning the notes on the neck
- Learn the low E and A strings first. Every root of a barre chord and most scale shapes sit on them.
- B to C and E to F are the only natural notes one fret apart. Everywhere else a natural note is two frets from the next.
- Fret 12 starts the neck over: the notes repeat one octave higher, in the same order.
- The high E string has the same names as the low E string, so learning one gives you both.
- A few minutes a day beats one long session. The app keeps your best streak for each level.
